Nate the Great

It's time for Nate to be in the spotlight. He needs some attention on a blog titled "A Day in the Life of Mae's Mommy." Nate is my sweet little 8 month old baby boy who just can't stop smiling. He nearly bursts with energy and emotion. He smiles and laughs with his whole body, and that little body almost can't contain all his excitment. He always has a smile for me when I re-enter a room, and he's beginning to cry when I leave a room. His favorite game is peek-a-boo, and is learning to love books. He's so cuddly and lovable. He is starting to give kisses, very sloppy, wet kisses. His drool is overwhelming and still not producing any pearly whites from his sensitive little gums. When I lay in the floor to play with him, he'll roll over to me or crawl to me (as long as he can get there sideways, he hasn't figured out how to go straight yet) and give me a kiss or just lean his head into mine and smile. He feels every emotion deeply. He can cry louder, scream higher, and whine longer than Mae ever tried. He loves to be held, will fall asleep in your arms, and it's a battle to get him to take a bottle when I'm not available for him to nurse. I've had two totally different experiences between my two little ones. They seem to favor only in appereances, and that they both flinch when they see a baby wipe heading towards their faces after a meal. There is something about having a sweet, sensitive baby boy. It's a different feeling as a mom to have a little boy. I can't describe it, but there's something amazing in the fact that this little baby will one day be bigger, stronger, and like his daddy one day. There is also something special about having a little girl, having a kindred spirit in the house and reliving your own childhood games with baby dolls and dress up tea parties. I'm thankful to have both of my little ones and all their special, unique little ways.

I too love having both a boy and a girl. They are VERY different. I would'nt trade either experience for anything in the world!

Just get ready b/c when he starts walking and running and everything you are going to realize if you havnt already that boys are much much much WILDER than little girls!

My little girl is somewhat of a tom boy I guess it comes from having an older brother. They are very different but yet the same in ways.

Its amazing b/c God doesnt make any two people exactly alike! thats for sure!

What a touching post. It's awesome to read a mom's take on her own children. It would be interesting to go back and read this when he's 18 to see if it's all still true. I mean the personality part....not the crying when you leave the room or nursing. ; ) I tell ya...those kids have the cutest cheeks! Awe! You're so blessed, but you knew that.
